A Message from Our President

Some advisors come into this work through spreadsheets. I came through China, experiencing the best of both worlds.

I have spent five years living and teaching there - high school and university English, university level composition, and a creative writing course that reminded me how much young Chinese students have to say when someone gives them the space to say it. At one university, I helped build an English language radio program from the ground up, because I believe real fluency doesn't just come from a book. This practical knowledge helped build confidence in those students, allowing some of them to easily transition to student life abroad. This belief still drives everything we do at AAP International.

Part of those years were spent in Xingtai, Hebei province - where my daughter was born, and where the city honored me with its 2007 Friendship Award. I did not expect either of those things when I arrived. Both changed me. China is woven into my family in ways that go beyond professional experience, and that is something I do not take lightly when a Chinese family puts their trust in us.

AAP International operates on an à la carte model because that is what honest advising requires. Not every family needs the same thing. Some students are academically ready and simply need focused visa preparation. Others need guidance from the very first decision. You should pay for what your situation actually calls for, and we will tell you plainly what that is, even if the answer means fewer services than you expected.

Our F-1 visa confidence framework has produced an 83% approval rate. That number is the result of a structured, interview-specific methodology built from direct experience, not a template borrowed from someone else's process.

And when your student arrives in the United States, our door stays open. If something comes up ... a question, a difficult situation, a decision that needs a second opinion, you can reach out. We will talk it through. That is not a guarantee of outcomes. It is a commitment to not disappear the moment the visa is approved. We view our role not merely as advisors, but as a bridge between two educational cultures.
